There's still time to get your very own Bremont Martin-Baker MBII through "Tatler" Unlisted. Pay a deposit online and you'll be invited to customise your very own bespoke timepiece at Bremont's Lyndhurst Terrace boutique with help from one of the brand's co-founders, Nick or Giles English

Last week, Tatler announced it was collaborating with Bremont for a limited-time offer that’s exclusive to our readers. For this week only, if you pay a 20% deposit (HK$7,790) on a Martin-Baker MBII watch through the Tatler Unlisted website, you’ll be invited to Bremont’s Lyndhurst Terrace boutique where you’ll customise your very own timepiece.

If that weren’t exciting enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to chat via video call (over a couple of glasses of champagne, we should add) to one of Bremont’s co-founders, Nick or Giles English, who will personally invite you to Bremont’s manufacture at Henley-on-Thames when you’re next in England.

So, why should you add a Martin-Baker MBII watch to your collection? “The MB collection is a very special range to us,” Nick tells Tatler. “Not only was it our first brand partnership, but it really launched our work and close ties with various military squadrons around the world who now commission Bremont to make custom watches for their units.”

The MB collection was launched in 2009, in collaboration with British ejection seat manufacturer Martin-Baker. A tough little pilot’s watch, an updated version was unveiled last year. Dubbed MBII, it was given a few design tweaks that introduced a modernised font and minutes track design for the rotating internal bezel. Also, the day-date complication was swapped in favour of a more minimal date display.

“The watch itself redefined the aviation watch space and we introduced new technology so that the watches themselves could withstand the same rigorous testing programme as the seats themselves,” says Nick. “This includes live ejection testing.” Martin-Baker supplies 70% of the world’s air forces with fighter ejection seat technology, and the brand claims it’s saved over 7,600 lives to date.

“Having seen the different spin-off military versions that could be achieved, we saw a real opportunity to use this particular model for customers to be able to ‘build their own’. Bremont only makes limited numbers of mechanical watches each year and this is even more exclusive. You’ll be hard pushed to find someone who has configured exactly the same watch, I imagine.”

After paying your Tatler Unlisted deposit, you’ll choose your case metal (brushed steel or black DLC) as well as your dial (black, white, or blue), barrel and strap colours, which vary from blue to orange to green and more, before finishing everything off with an engraving––assuming you don't opt for an open case back.

After you place the order for your watch, it takes between 12 and 14 weeks to produce. What are you waiting for? Secure your very own Martin-Baker MBII before this Sunday (March 7th) here.
