It's a been a while since Tatler Singapore threw a lavish party or hosted an entertaining dinner. But on the eve of Singapore reverting to stricter safe distancing measures, Tatler partnered Swiss watch brand Breitling to organise a sit-down dinner in conjunction with the global launch of the new Premier Heritage and Super Chronomat collections.

Held at the Casuarina Suite of the Raffles Hotel, the soiree was the first large-scaled event (under current government guidelines) Tatler has organised since the circuit breaker period last year. Despite not being able to mingle between tables—guests were seen waving and sending air kisses to their friends across the ballroom—many guests were grateful to have the opportunity to attend an event under the new normal.

Bankers and married couple Chermaine Pang and Terence Siew commented: "It's been nearly a year since we have been to such an occasion and being with so many friends under the same roof." Concurring was Clement Piak, who attended the event with his father Jeffrey. He said: "It's still nice to come out and see these familiar faces despite the rules. I can't even say hello to my aunty [Lilian Low, who was sitting at a different table with her husband, Richard]. But it's okay, it's still fun."

With the evening aptly themed Revival of Legacy, Breitling unveiled the two new heritage-inspired collections to the guests. The Premier Heritage range comprises creations such as the Premier B09 Chronograph and Premier B25 Datora 42, which take creative cues from the brand's archives. On the other hand, the Super Chronomat is a modern take on the Chronomat from the 1980s, which was then created for aviation professionals. Besides the watch presentation, there was also a short fireside chat with Alvin Soon, president of Breitling Asia; Terence Lim, branded content director at Tatler; and Lionel Hofstetter, the watchmaker's head of product & brand management who dialled in from Zurich, Switzerland.
