Witness how Audemars Piguet reveal the multiple facets of contemporary women through the lens of fashion photographer Harley Weir—all sporting a beautiful Royal Oak timepiece, of course

If there is anything to represent the adventurous and free-spirited nature of the modern woman, it would be the pronounced vigour that emanates from the octagonal bezel of Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak series. To that end, the Swiss watchmaker recently presented a new Royal Oak campaign featuring an all-female line-up. Titled ‘Be Yourself’, it is inspired by the multi-faceted personalities of women today.

“My inspiration for the shoot was to think about the way the watch was made and its different materials and then think about how the woman is made, what is part of her personality, what is her character, who she is… I love this idea that people wear part of themselves visually, so the people can show on their bodies what they desire inside,” said Weir.

The Royal Oak is an icon with not much introduction needed. But as much as it’s a masculine design, it fits the wrists of modern women perfectly thanks to the brand’s ability to weave a contrast of styles across the series. From the sleek aesthetics of black ceramics to the shimmering sparkle of frosted gold, as well as the vivid hues of multi-coloured gemstones, these mechanical timepieces offer a true expression of the multifaceted woman, reflecting their diverse personalities and aesthetics.
