To celebrate the 175th anniversary of its founding, A Lange & Söhne has introduced three new mechanical watches to its Saxonia collection and, out of the trio, the Saxonia Thin is undoubtedly the crown jewel. It’s limited to 50 pieces worldwide, with a refined white gold case that provides the backdrop for a solid silver dial coated with black gold flux, which is more commonly known as aventurine glass, and mixed with barely-there copper fragments. Powered by the Calibre LO93.1, the thinnest A Lange & Söhne movement to date, this watch offers a power reserve of three days.

Five new dials have been added to Omega's 39.5 mm De Ville Prestige collection, which made its debut in the 1960s and was originally part of the watchmaker’s better-known Seamaster line. Each watch is presented with a matching bracelet or leather strap, and collectors can rest easy knowing their timepiece comes with a five-year warranty.

The Nantucket story begins with the well-respected Hermès designer Henri d’Origny who, nearly 30 years ago, designed this watch with a case inspired by anchor chain links. A rectangular case in either rose gold or steel frames a rectangular dial, which now comes silver-plated or in mother-of-pearl. These new editions also are available with diamonds, which are playfully sprinkled across the top-left corner of the timepiece.

Rubies, pink sapphires and amethysts are among the many gemstones chosen to create this visually spectacular Big Bang Unico. Hublot has always been different and, in many ways, has built upon the centuries-old traditions that define Swiss watchmaking to create never-seen-before novelties. For the Big Bang Unico Full Baguette King Gold Rainbow, the watchmaker has mounted 290 brightly coloured gemstones using an invisible closed setting so that the watch’s case metal is hardly visible. If that weren’t enough, the HUB1242 chronograph flyback mechanism provides 72 hours of power reserve, ensuring that this watch is as practical as it is attention-grabbing.

The latest addition to Hublot’s Spirit line, the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve Carbon White is an incredibly daring timepiece. Limited to 100 pieces, this watch features a tonneau-shaped case and bezel that are made using carbon fibre. White inclusions are achieved using glass microfibres that mottle the otherwise black and grey structure, which is perfectly paired with a white-lined rubber strap that can be easily swapped using the watchmaker’s One-Click system.

If that weren’t enough, an eyecatching skeletonised dial is decorated with a tourbillon cage that’s positioned at 6 o’clock. An hour and minutes disc is positioned above and slightly off-centre at 3 o’clock, opposite an easy-to-read power reserve display that counts down the days before your Spirit of Big Bang is out of juice.

After less than five minutes of bidding, auction house Phillips sold the Panerai worn by Sylvester Stallone in the action movie Daylight (1996) for a whopping US$214,200. It’s believed that Stallone bought the Luminor wristwatch while shopping in Rome and loved it so much that he insisted on wearing it on set. The Luminor collection dates back to 1992 when Panerai set out to make the watches it created for the Italian navy more accessible to the everyday collector. Stallone’s piece went under the hammer alongside its original box and sharkskin strap, as well as two additional Panerai straps with buckles, and the brass screwdriver that was supplied for changing them.

Vacheron Constantin has teamed up with online retailer Mr Porter for a Fiftysix Day-Date timepiece that’s limited to just 30 pieces worldwide. This isn’t the first time these two companies decided to join forces—in 2019 they partnered up to develop the Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife wristwatch, which was conceived specifically for The King’s Man (2019) starring Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton. Available exclusively on Mr Porter, this new watch comes in a 40 mm stainless steel case and with petrol blue-coloured dial that’s been designed especially for this collaboration. Richard Mille has announced that the new RM 65-01 is “the most complex timepiece ever to leave” its workshop, which says a lot considering this brand is widely regarded as one of watchmaking’s most technically advanced. This timepiece has been five years in the making and comes with a high-frequency balance that allows for superior timekeeping accuracy and stopwatch calculations to 1/10th of a second. It’s survived (and thrived) during shock and drop simulations, as well as waterproof and magnetic tests.

Housed within a grade five titanium and Carbon TPT case lies the brand’s first in-house rapid-winding mechanism, which can be activated using a pusher that’s positioned at 8 o’clock. When pressed 125 times, it powers the barrel, which offers 60 hours’ worth of power reserve.

The latest in a series of complicated Octo Roma watches, Bulgari’s Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon seamlessly combines a tourbillon, which increases the watch’s accuracy, with a minute repeater, which strikes the Chimes of Westminster. Unapologetically complex, this tough-guy timepiece is visually spectacular, thanks to its jet-black DLC-coated (diamondlike carbon) titanium case, which measures a roomy 44 mm. The watch’s three gongs and three hammers are housed on the left-hand side of the dial, so that the wearer can admire the complication easily from the wrist when activated using the white gold push-button at 9 o’clock.

A smooth titanium middle case adds a surprising and very welcome touch that gives the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon a more sophisticated look when compared to an all-DLCcoated, matt case. It’s limited to just 15 pieces: get yours for US$259,000.
