1. Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Squelette 5395
Undoubtedly the highlight of the new collection, Breguet pushes the limits of ultra-thin movement by removing almost 50% of material from the automatic 581 caliber. To save even more space, the winding rotor is placed at the periphery of the plate. The silicon balance spring is also angled in a way that leaves more room to spare. Last but not least, the tourbillon engages directly with the wheel train instead of an intermediary pinion, resulting in a unique structure for the gravity-cancelling complication.
It was made even more challenging by the fact that the entire movement is made of 18k gold, delicately decorated with Clous de Paris hobnail pattern. The caliber is only 3mm thick, which allows for the rose gold case with a domed glass box to measure a slim 7.7mm.
