Discover the Nature Sauvage collection, where exquisite high jewellery captures the wild beauty of the animal kingdom

The playful juxtaposition of nature’s creatures with man’s creations has been a signature style of the Cartier Maison. Take its new high jewellery collection Nature Sauvage which exudes the spirit of flora and fauna and celebrates creatures in surreal shapes and forms. Every piece is meticulously crafted as a wearable work of art, beautifully igniting the imagination and paying homage to the wonders of the natural world.

The Maison has truly made yet another sparkling array of haute joaillerie. One of the standouts for this collection is the Alae necklace. This art-deco inspired creation mimics the silhouette of a skyscraper, but upon closer inspection, a beautifully crafted beetle made of diamonds and onyxes with its wings caught in mid-beat is revealed. It’s a retelling of a playful tale of when worlds collide; the contrast of cityscape’s sharp-edge geometry with the critters’ intricate details doesn’t go unnoticed, especially to the trained eye of adorers of beautiful ornaments.

The Mochelys necklace appears as a stunning abstract work at first glance. However, when looking at it closely, a hidden turtle is integrated and cast onto the element. This treasure features a 71.90-carat rubellite that anchors the design, with the turtle’s head and legs becoming visible when the piece is transformed into a brooch.

Last but not least, the leaping panther imagery is found in the Panthère Jaillissante ring-bracelet. This work captures the panther, an iconic symbol of the Maison, in a moment of poised tension, looking as if it’s about to leap. An 8.63-carat Zambian emerald rests in the panther’s grasp, its emerald eyes and sapphire-spotted coat enhancing the lifelike quality of the alluring sculpture. Fully articulated, the ring-bracelet moves with the wearer while creating a dynamic energy with each gesture.

Jacqueline Karachi, director of high jewellery creation at Cartier, describes Nature Sauvage as “a new perspective on the Cartier animals to surprise, amaze and bring modernity by way of unexpected encounters”. The collection’s playful hide-and-seek game with nature’s creatures adds a sense of wonder and discovery. Each piece tells a story, capturing fleeting moments of elegance, power and mystery.
