Louis Vuitton's Silver Lockit bracelet was designed by the fashion house’s menswear creative director, Virgil Abloh.

Louis Vuitton has shared its latest Silver Lockit bracelet for its LVforUNICEF collection, which in tandem renews the luxury retail brand’s promise to help more vulnerable children around the world; an effort that has raised over US$10 million since its inception.

Virgil Abloh’s signature bold chains give the bracelet a modern update to the LVforUNICEF design, which had previously consisted of a smaller padlock laced simply on neon cord.

The new unisex bracelet features a more substantial cord and a larger sterling silver padlock charm engraved with fashion house's logo and is connected by Abloh’s signature chain motif. According to Louis Vuitton, the Silver Lockit was inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect his clients’ most precious belongings.

The bracelet was designed in four bold colorways that were inspired by Abloh’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2020 runway show, including black, orange, celadon green, and blue with yellow.

“In continuation of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton is committed to raising awareness and funds for UNICEF to support the most vulnerable children around the world,” the fashion house said in a statement. “By purchasing the Silver Lockit designed by Virgil Abloh, clients have the opportunity to support UNICEF’s work to provide conflict- and disaster-affected children with access to water, sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection services.”

The bracelets retail for US$430 a piece, and for every bracelet purchased, $100 is donated on the buyer’s behalf to UNICEF. This includes support to Syrian refugees and their host communities in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey, it also includes children affected by recent natural disasters and in urgent need.

The Silver Lockit bracelets are available at more than 150 Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide and can also be purchased online.
