Based in Hong Kong, high-end jewellery brand Nalas has collaborated with the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands to create a one-of-a-kind pair of breathtaking earrings called "Shining Stars".

The stunning accessories are the first in what will be a series of Vincent van Gogh-inspired jewellery by Nalas, which is selling its creations through Sotheby’s auction house.

Inspired by one of Van Gogh’s most iconic artworks Terrace of a café at night (Place du Forum), 1888, "Shining Stars" perfectly suits the Kröller-Müller Museum, which boasts the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world.

A world-famous painter, Van Gogh said of his Terrace of a café at night artwork: “The gables of the houses on a street that leads away under the blue sky studded with stars are dark blue or violet, with a green tree. Now there’s a painting of night without black. With nothing but beautiful blue, violet and green, and in these surroundings the lighted square is coloured pale sulfur and lemon green.”

Nalas has mounted its earrings with over 200 dazzling diamonds in various cuts to reconstruct Van Gogh’s star-studded sky. A delicate blend of yellow- and blue-coloured stones beautifully evoke the warmth of lantern lights in the dead of night.

Valued at upwards of HK$300,000, buyers are invited to bid on the "Shining Stars" earrings at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels: Part II sale here.
