In honour of the 74th Cannes Film Festival, Chopard presents 74 exquisite jewellery pieces in their Red Carpet collection

The official partner of Cannes Film Festival since 1998, Chopard has released its annual Red Carpet collection of watches and exquisite high jewellery. This year, Chopard's co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele presents 74 paradise-themed masterpieces, drawing inspiration from real and imagined havens of fantasy, from the bountiful Garden of Eden and lush cinematic landscape of Pandora in James Cameron's film Avatar to the hidden island of Pantelleria off the coast of Italy.

“I wanted our creations to invite women on a journey towards a comforting haven, an imaginary world brimming with dreams and optimism,” says Scheufele. “There are various ways of envisaging one’s personal paradise and I have tried to give life to these multiple worlds within the Red Carpet Collection through creations honouring fauna, flora and the finest gemstones, as well as by designing jewellery that is part of the fantasy of movies.”

In this collection, the expert artisans at Chopard's atelier sculpt impeccable works of art from luxurious gemstones, including a bracelet that captures the colours of paradise, adorned with a bright assortment of garnets, tsavorites, lazulites and tourmalines with a crowning cabochon-cut 24-carat Spessartine garnet. These glamorous pieces are a celebration of creativity, craft and cinema.

And there is no better place to debut this collection than at Cannes Film Festival, which kicked off on July 6, a film and celebrity paradise along the French Riviera that was cancelled last year because of the pandemic.

At the opening ceremony of the film festival, Chopard enlisted the help of some of the most talented stars to unveil the Red Carpet collection. Needless to say, they looked positively resplendent in Chopard's new high jewellery pieces.
