The socialite, fashionista and financier has created a handcrafted jewellery collection exclusively retailing at Joyce Pacific Place

And let there be light – the vivacious Lumen Kinoshita has just announced the launch of her new jewellery collection L. Luminous, now available at Joyce Pacific Place in Admiralty. The collection is wonderfully down-to-earth, with Kinoshita drawing inspiration for the designs from her own heritage – that is, the tropical island of Borneo, with hints of Chinese flair. Tribal beads and natural materials (such as coral and turquoise) are chosen for their positive energy, and combined into pieces that can be worn from day to night.

Kinoshita explains that she drew on the 'global nomad' character to carry the story of her designs, with the pieces a wonderful combination of luxurious antiqued silver, precious gems such as diamonds, sapphires and emeralds, and handcrafted beads – each with its own unique symbolism or meaning and sourced from places such as Venice, India, and the Netherlands. Most pieces are designed to be worn together and stacked to create an individualised look.

This week, the Darling Collection of necklaces will be launching at Joyce boutiques, to be followed later on by the Project Earth Collection of bracelets.

"There is something special about a rare gem in this day and age of fast fashion," explains Kinoshita. "The feeling of a precious stone should anchor one's wardrobe in making one appreciate what they have, instead of quickly disposing in favour of what's new."

L. Luminous by Lumen Kinoshita is available at Joyce, 232 Pacific Place, Admiralty
