Based in Los Angeles, this award-winning designer is fuelled by the power of gemstones

What inspires you?

A stone’s colour and glow, shape and size, cut and how the light reflects off of it. My goal is always to design in a way that complements the stone I’m working with.

Describe your clients in three words.

Sophisticated, tasteful, cool.

Who is your client?

A woman who has style and a sense of self. Someone who appreciates beauty and wants to live with sparkle around her face, neck or fingers.

Tell us about your French bulldog.

My latest collection, the Lucky Talisman, is actually inspired by and named after my spirited bulldog. This collection features the 12 animals of the lunar zodiac. It brings luck and joy to its wearer, as a true talisman should.

Tell us about the first jewellery piece you designed.

It was my Diamond Circle necklace, which showcased my love for simple, wearable pieces that are chic and timeless. I wore this necklace just last week, and layered it with my diamond-set zodiac chain and Hepburn necklace.

Yellow or white gold?

Yellow gold.

Sapphire or emeralds?

Emeralds.

What trends should we keep an eye on?

Yellow gold is back. Layer tonnes of yellow gold and mix it with both plain metal and diamond-set pieces.

Who have you been most proud of seeing wear your jewellery?

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, Michelle Obama, Victoria Beckham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Scarlett Johansson.

What’s your first memory of jewellery?

I have very fond memories of sitting on the bed with my grandmother and mother and being entranced by diamonds and the beautiful colours and sparkle of rubies, emeralds and sapphires. These stones have such fire and life and I’ve been captivated ever since childhood.

If you could design jewellery for anyone, who would it be?

Coco Chanel. She is the epitome of true style.

If you weren’t a jeweller, what would you be?

Something in design of another sort. Maybe something in interiors or home renovations.

Where will you travel to next?

I’m really looking forward to going back to Capri and Mykonos.

What show have you been binge-watching?

A ton of Netflix. I loved The Queen’s Gambit, Bridgerton, Monarca and Bling Empire.
