The Asian jewellery artist delighted her global fanbase with the official launch of her masterpiece collection

In the heart of Paris, amid the enchanting ambience of Haute Couture Week at the historic Hôtel d’Évreux on the Place Vendôme, the name Anna Hu shone bright. The launch of her latest acclaimed haute jewellery collection marked a significant milestone during July’s couture event, emphasising the celebrated Monaco-based Asian artist’s connection with Europe.

This year, Anna Hu delighted her global fanbase with the official launch of her masterpiece collection Papillon du Blanc. The name, meaning “white butterfly”, evokes images of ethereal beauty and delicate metamorphosis. Debuting its first design in 2018, the ring was inspired by the many snowy winters that Anna had experienced while living in New York, with the sparkle of diamonds in different sizes and shapes that adorn the wings of her creation paying tribute to the uniqueness of each snowflake; while the ribbon, which wraps organically around the butterfly, represents a swirling dance of snow falling from the sky.

The new collection consists of three individual rings, which can be worn in seven different ways, and is available in several brilliant stones and colour choices. Just like all Anna Hu creations, each Papillon du Blanc piece is crafted in her Parisian ateliers, exclusively using French-trained artisans who are masters of old-world craftsmanship.

Since launching her eponymous label in 2007, Hu’s exclusive designs—of which she creates only 20 to 30 per year—have become a firm favourite among celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Madonna, Natalie Portman and Pansy Ho. She has also earned a place with the prestigious Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, as the first Asian jewellery artist to grace the official couture calendar in 2018. This recognition underscored her artistry’s transcendent appeal, blurring geographical boundaries and celebrating the universality of exquisite design.

One of Anna Hu’s most iconic creations, the Yin Yang Hand Ornament, was crafted for contemporary artist Cindy Sherman back in 2010. In 2022, this exceptional piece found its permanent home in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, cementing Hu’s status as an artist whose work transcends time and space.

Anna Hu’s ability to seamlessly blend eastern and western influences, her devotion to preserving traditional craftsmanship and her dedication to pushing the boundaries of haute jewellery make her a luminary within her industry. With the new Papillon du Blanc collection, she continues to captivate the world with her exquisite designs, proving that artistry knows no borders.
