Phillips unveils new pieces from the inaugural jewellery sale at its West Kowloon headquarters

This May is set to sparkle with Phillips’ Jewels & Jadeite Spring Auction. Taking place at the company’s brand new Asia headquarters in West Kowloon Cultural District, the auction features a range of colourful diamonds and gemstones, plus iconic signed pieces from the world’s most renowned jewellery houses, from Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels to Chanel and Tiffany & Co.

The Hong Kong auction is led by a stunning sapphire and diamond necklace by Bulgari. Set with an unheated royal blue Ceylon sapphire weighing 118.35 carats, the piece is expected to fetch between HK$24 million and HK$35 million under the hammer.

Signed pieces to follow include Van Cleef & Arpels’ iconic Zip necklace—an elegant, timeless homage to Paris, the city of love. Turning an ordinary, everyday item into a haute joaillerie masterpiece, the Zip necklace takes artisans anywhere from 400 to 1,200 hours to create, alternating pink sapphires and diamonds on pink gold, with a chain tassel to finish.

Other iconic signed jewels include a pair of unique Cartier Tutti Frutti gemstone brooches from the 1920s, a diamond and onyx brooch by Chanel featuring the maison’s signature Camellia symbol, and a Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. ring set with a 6.26-carat Kashmir sapphire and diamonds.

The auction house will also present a collection of fine Burmese rubies and coloured diamonds this season, including a highly sought-after, 5.01-carat, unheated Burmese ruby and diamond ring, and an extremely rare, 2.02-carat, fancy green-blue diamond that resembles a pool of ice-cold, crystal-clear water.

A pair of fancy intense yellow diamond earrings are likewise not to be missed, weighing approximately 7.05 and 7.28 carats respectively, and estimated between HK$1.3 million and HK$1.8 million, along with a diamond bracelet set with 27 radiant-cut stones, which pair perfectly.

The Jewels & Jadeite Hong Kong Spring Auction is available for viewing from May 18 to 23, and the sale will take place on May 23 at Phillips Asia Headquarters in West Kowloon Cultural District. Click here for more information.
