Bridal jeweller Angie Marei of Marei New York talks us through the five biggest engagement ring styles for 2022

1/ Uniquely shaped diamonds

Brilliant-cut diamonds will always be timeless, but pear- and princess-cut diamonds are also beautiful. 2/ Interlocking sets

Brides are now shopping for matching engagement and wedding ring sets. It’s ultra-seductive when the engagement ring perfectly wraps around and interlocks with the wedding band, and we’re going to see different approaches to the typical stacked diamond-set bridal sets we’re so familiar with.

3/ Big and bold

I’m seeing a massive demand for out-of-the-ordinary, non-traditional engagement ring styles that come with a story. My clients are becoming more adventurous in their personal style and aren’t always interested in the more typical diamond-set engagement ring. Statement-making engagement rings that are spirit-lifting will be in demand for 2022.

5/ Personalised designs

Couples are looking for something that’s unique to them. My clients don’t want what everyone else has, they want something that showcases their individual personalities and style. There’s going to be a huge demand for bespoke jewellery over the coming months.
