Be greeted by chic, new interiors when you next step in for a look at the French maison’s jewels
Fine jewels are best admired in a luxuriously and stylishly appointed environment—Chanel knows this well, going by the sophisticated new look of its refurbished watch and jewellery boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
The decor—the work of New York-based architect and long-time Chanel collaborator, Peter Marino—takes cues from the iconic codes of the French fashion house and reflects the contemporary vision of its founder’s intimate world.
The newly renovated boutique boasts an expanded space spanning 1,350 sq ft, in which a mood of understated luxe is created with colours of white, black, beige and gold—all familiar hues that are seen in the Chanel universe.

Besides the jewels in the showcases, the next most eye-catching sight in the boutique is undoubtedly the diamond-shaped chandelier—the centrepiece of the interiors. Panels that resemble Coromandel screens, a favourite of Mademoiselle Chanel, line the walls of the boutique, contrasted by gold accents on other feature walls.
Guests will be invited to make themselves comfortable on seating—upholstered in tweed, of course, while VIPs will be ushered into a special salon hidden behind secret doors.

In this private space are some exquisite interior pieces: A large panel of Coromandel screens filled with mythical motifs and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, an antique sculptural desk by Louis XV and a Gold Scarab commode by Atelier St Jacques, a French company known for its expertise in heritage restoration for architecture and furnishing.

The lounge is also decorated with unique furnishings—a pair of ornate Tweed lamps and a coffee table by Delos & Ubiedo, a specially commissioned artwork by contemporary Korean artist Minjung Kim, and the Volumetric chair by Voukenas Petrides, which is a gilded piece that stands out with its modernity and playfulness.
Not only will one find Chanel’s dazzling jewellery and haute horlogerie creations here, but you’ll also receive a fresh shopping experience, elevated by the boutique’s chic, new interiors.
