The quarterly watches and jewellery auction on Hotlotz boasts an impressive collection, with proceeds going towards Beyond Social Services

Seeing as many of us have taken our retail therapy needs online in the midst of the pandemic, why not shop for a great cause at Hotlotz's latest jewellery and watches auction this week?

The auction is the platform's most impressive to date, comprising of 150 lots in total with proceeds raised from 75 lots slated to be donated to the Singapore-based charity, Beyond Social Services. The funds will be channelled to helping low-income families who were badly affected by the pandemic, "[to help them] rebuild their lives and get back on their feet," shares Jolene Fok, community relations manager at Beyond Social Services.

Of the 150 items, collectors will be thrilled to find a truly breathtaking 38-carat Columbian emerald ring taking centre stage at the digital auction. The gemstone has been independently tested and certified by the Nan Yang Gemological Institute confirming its origins, along with the fact that it has a minor enhancement.

"It is rare to find a Columbian emerald ring of this size in today's market that has very little treatment," shares Hotlotz founder Matthew Elton. "Columbian emeralds are the most sought after by gem collectors and have the most expensive price-per-carat, compared to Brazilian or African emeralds."

Of course, there are other several unique finds as well. Besides its extensive jade collection—inclusive of two fine jadeite ring sets each boasting exquisite, grade A jadeite cabochons—expect to find a five-carat heart-shaped diamond ring and a rare Mother-of-Pearl black jade and gold dominoes bangle bracelet by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co. Mrs Henry Ford II had an identical bracelet that was previously sold at a Christie's auction for US$21,250, and discerning collectors can also look to acquire accompanying earrings to complete the full set.

Besides its jewellery offerings, there is an extensive array of timepieces on auction to pique the interests of horologists. First on our radar is the limited edition Girard-Perregaux platinum tourbillon watch, the Tourbillon Sous Trois Points. It's not every day that you get to see it as there were only 17 pieces ever made, and horologists now have the chance to get their hands on one here. Featuring a Calibre 9600 automatic movement with visible tourbillon, semi-skeletonised and engraved dial with three jewelled platinum bridges, it stands as a great addition to any fine timepiece collection.
