The 1960 Porsche 356 RSR Outlaw Coupe will be available through RM Sotheby’s on what would have been the original Monterey live auction week

A one-of-a-kind vintage Porsche collaboration will be leading to auction next month. The 1960 Porsche 356 RSR Outlaw Coupe was made in collaboration between Italian-based Momo as well as Rod Emory, a Porsche enthusiast who specialises in 365 Outlaws.

Rod Emory and his wife, Amy, started Emory Motorsports in 1996 in order to work on such models: with the iconic Porsche 356 Outlaw restorations delivering a customised experience unlike any other on the Porsche market.

This specific 1960 Porsche 356 RSR Outlaw Coupe was crafted using a 964-generation Porsche 911 foundation with a noteworthy aluminium body that snakes its way around the entire exterior. The twin turbo Emory-Rothsport Outlaw-4 engine also features an impressive 394 horsepower.

The vehicle will be made available through RM Sotheby’s Online Only: SHIFT/Monterey auction—which, due to COVID-19, will be exclusively available for virtual bidding. Set for the original Monterey live auction week, August 14 and 15, the virtual event is set to be the largest online auction of its kind, and will feature over 200 vehicles on the auction block.

“These examples coming to the Online Only: SHIFT/Monterey auction are exceptional examples and coveted by collectors,” Donnie Gould, Car Specialist, RM Sotheby’s said in a press release. “Following the huge success of our virtual auctions both in North America and Europe, SHIFT/Monterey is set to be our largest and highest quality Online Only offering of 2020, as our early consignments already indicate.”

The lineup will also include a variety of examples that date all the way back to the 1920s, including a 1937 Bugatti Type 57C Ventoux, a 1957 fire engine red Mercedes roadster, a 1991 Ferrari F40, and other interesting collectors items from across the centennial.
