Porsche has this week announced its plans to release a hyper exclusive new model to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its roadster family. The Boxster concept was originally launched in 1996 and has seen hardly any changes in its visual appearance—even after over two decades and 357,000 units sold worldwide.

“The Boxster has a very special meaning for Porsche as it marked a re-orientation of the sports car manufacturer’s model strategy and provided a way forward during the difficult economic times of the mid-1990s,” the German automaker explained in a press release.

The special edition Porsche Boxster will be outfitted in a striking “Neodyme” colourway—a copper-like shimmering brown that provides “an exciting contrast” to the basic GT Silver Metallic colour of the pioneering 1993 public unveiling of the now classic roadster. That said, the Boxster 25 years will also be available in Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic as well as the classic silver for collectors who prefer the classic look.

The rich colourway continues with a combination of Bordeaux leather interior and a rich red fabric convertible top. The convertible top will feature embossed Boxster 25 lettering to commemorate the anniversary—as well as 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with the same “Boxster 25” lettering, a heated GT multifunction sports leather steering, and a myriad of other luxury additions that the German marque has become synonymous with.
