No surprise there, it’s the Huawei P30 Pro

What do Chloe Ng, Rebecca Eu and Dawn Koh all have in common? Besides a love for fashion, they’re also huge fans of the Huawei P30 Pro.

While it’s been getting a lot of attention for its new level of magnification (50 times digital zoom to be specific), there is a really a lot more to its triple Leica lens camera than that.

“I love the convenience it gives me. When I move to Manila, I look forward to not having to lug my giant DSLR around to take photos,” says Rebecca, who owns the P30 Pro in a gorgeous Breathing Crystal hue. She is headed to Manila in July to focus on her social enterprise Mei's Own.

“With the Huawei P30 Pro, I have a professional camera in my pocket. I can snap anything and it immediately looks beautiful. DSLR photos are usually more than 20 megapixels so I have to resize them before I put them on the site; on my phone, they’re high quality and can go straight onto my website with minimal editing.

Besides being able to swap between manual mode (which are great for DSLR users like Rebecca) and auto mode, the f/1.6 wide aperture sensor is great for capturing ultra-wide pictures.

Its new large RYYB sensor and optical-stabilisers also allows sharper, brighter images in low-light situations and at night. “My P30 Pro has incredible depth-of-field too,” says Chloe, law student and recipient of Tatler Fashion Award 2019’s Fashion Newcomer. Huawei’s Time-of-Flight (TOF) camera is responsible for that. By being able to measure the distance precisely, multiple levels of the bokeh effect can be achieved, nailing that beautiful Leica-style blur.

“I also love how you turn your phone into a portable charger for other phones by connecting a wire or wireless charging. Sharing is indeed caring!” said Chloe.

Co-founder of Chalk Farm, Dawn uses the P30 Pro in Aurora: “The Dolby atmos setting for audio is incredible! I have to listen to music whenever I'm out and about and this is a life-changer. Brings richness, power to every beat and note of a song.”
