Rev your engines and fasten your seatbelts! These off-road cars will show you who's boss

When we say that driving off-road cars is one of the best experiences ever, you have to take our word for it. Besides being spacious, these 'toys for the big boys' are also loved for their versatility and macho framework. With cars like these, you are free to navigate the bustling city streets and muddy terrains.

There are lots of things to consider when choosing an off-road vehicle including the drivetrain or the components that transfer power from the transmission down to the wheels; low-range gearing, underbody protection, wheel travel, and more.

According to its manufacturer, the Bronco will deliver more than 400 horsepower, but they have yet to come up with the exact numbers.

Don't let its size fool you. The Suzuki Jimny is arguably one of the most accessible and stylish off-roaders out there. Built to tackle the harshest weather and terrain, the Jimny goes where other vehicles "fear to tread". Its down-to-Earth design will help you focus more on the road.

It features a horizontal instrument panel design that helps the driver recognise the angle of the vehicle in rough instantaneous terrain. Its backspace, although relatively small for additional passengers, can ferry up to 850 to 912 mm-tall luggage. Its front seat cushion frames are also 70mm wider and 55mm taller which helps with shock absorption.

Tatler Trivia: The Suzuki Jimny comes in three different variants the two-tone GLX, GLX/GL (Monotone), and GL Variant. Its colours include Solid Kinetic Yellow (pictured above), Metallic Brisk Blue, Metallic Chiffon Ivory, Solid Jungle Green, Solid Medium Gray, White, Pearl Bluish Black, and Metallic Silky Silver.

The Land Rover Defender is a capable off-roader. It boasts sophisticated off-road electronics such as Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 system that automatically changes the car's throttle response, stability, air suspension, and steering controls according to trail conditions. This four-wheel drive also has an auto-locking centre and rear differentials which makes it one of the most sought-after off-road cars in the market today.

This off-roader offers the latest generation of Toyota's Crawl Control, an electronic locking rear differential, multi-terrain select, and downhill assist control.
