Whether you’re searching for an oversized wallet or a customised lighter, your wish is William & Son’s command

Rub the magic lamp: whatever it is you’re wishing for, William & Son is your retail genie. Founded by William Asprey 13 years ago, the luxury boutique on Mount Street in Mayfair, London, offers the ultimate bespoke service. If the store doesn’t stock what you’re looking for, they’ll make it. In fact, William & Son “will make anything the client wishes and to a high level of quality,” says Asprey.
The Asprey family has been involved in luxury goods sales for seven generations. In 1999, William left Asprey & Garrard to launch William & Son. In just over a decade, the business has not only built up a loyal and international clientele that includes Prince Pavlos and Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, but also received its first royal warrant as the goldsmith and silversmith of the Royal family from Queen Elizabeth II.

Luxury, according to William & Son, is about choosing exactly what you want, and not being told what you should have. With a team of three in-house designers, the company has extensive knowledge of materials, construction, practicality and durability to guide customers through the designs, whether it be for jewellery, rifles, silverware or something truly unique, eclectic or extravagant. Whenever possible, products are made in Britain, and the company’s long-established relationships with smaller manufacturers means that customers are given the best of British materials and craftsmanship.

No commission is beyond the team, and one of the most peculiar requests has included a yellow leather wallet designed to hold £10,000 in cash without the sides bulging. “We don’t consider our clients’ requests as being out of the ordinary,” says Asprey. “They’re all individuals.”
