The new collection, created with a hope for new beginnings and brighter days, launches on April 23

Uniqlo and JW Anderson join forces once again to launch the 2021 Spring/Summer collection on April 23. The new line-up is the latest collaborative effort between the global apparel retailer and the London-based brand revolutionising contemporary fashion.

Created with a hope for new beginnings and brighter days, the Uniqlo x JW Anderson SS21 collection continues to evolve the LifeWear line, which the two developed based on the theme of "British classics, designed for life today" since their first partnership in 2017.

Still, this new collection is still very much fused with signature JW Anderson craftsmanship and heirloom charm, ensuring that it keeps its artisanal craft alive this spring and summer.

"I was really thinking of spring when I was working on this collection. We were all staying inside and I was looking forward to when we could venture out again. I also wanted to incorporate a feeling of craft, as it's very important to me," says Jonathan Anderson, fashion designer and founder of JW Anderson.

A playful sense of ease threads through the range. T-shirts, blouses, hats, tote bags and other items feature wildflower embroidery accents with appearances that vary according to hue and fabric. Other noteworthy touches are blanket stitching on men's T-shirts and work shirts and on women's denim items, as well as bohemian smocking on dresses and skirts.

Cool linen and seersucker help lighten the impact of the key collection colours of khaki, brown and ivory. Men's and women's offerings include shorts and feature the homespun feel of linen blends and slub cotton.

Overall, the line-up has 18 pieces for women, 14 pieces for men and four accessories. The JW Anderson craftsmanship continues to shine through in the stitchwork and simple silhouettes while the comfort and functionality speak of Uniqlo's signature, commitment and identity.

The Uniqlo x JW Anderson full line-up is available in the Lee Theatre flagship store, Harbour City store and the online flagship store from April 23, 2021.
