A behind the scenes glimpse at the team of savoir-faire artists who breathed life into the magical couture dresses.

If there were two words to describe the Dior haute couture spring summer 2017 collection, it would be magical and elaborate. For Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of the women’s collection, it was the labyrinth that captivated her imagination for her first haute couture season for the maison.

This video takes us behind the scenes for a close up of how the fantastical constellations came to be, a process that begins from the artisan workshops, where a team pores over every details – from sketches to cross stitching – that result in the dazzling haute couture gems as seen on the runway.

To achieve her envisioned labyrinth of flowers, plants, iconography and constellation of divine symbols, Chiuri set to work on evening dresses in fairy tale colours like mauve, blue, pink and grey, and fine layers of tulle, organza and lace carefully embroidered with herbariums, divination symbols.

From couture dresses to ready-t0-wear, Dior appeals to the artistic soul as evident in the Lady Dior collection reimagined by 7 different designers
