Co-founder of Linda Farrow, the London native speaks to us about everything from her favourite cat eye sunglasses to her new kitten, Prada

Tracy Sedino and her husband, Simon Jablon, launched Linda Farrow after discovering a stockpile of leftover inventory from Jablon’s mother’s eyewear brand from the 1970’s. “It was 2003, Simon and I were so young at the time and we decided to give it a real go,” Sedino shares. With the right amount of determination and dream from the couple, Linda Farrow has catapulted into one of the most ubiquitous eyewear labels known for their timeless yet unabashedly luxurious designs.

My husband and I both attended the same nursery school as toddlers, but we didn’t officially meet until my 23rd birthday when he crashed my party. We started dating shortly afterwards, and the rest is history!
When Simon and I found the warehouse of antique glasses, we put a lot of hours and passion into reviving the label, and I guess we did it at the right time – vintage was having a big moment in London. Our first order came from Harvey Nichols, and I’ll never forget how Simon and I jumped for joy in the lift right after the appointment.
We partner with various fashion houses in the creation of their eyewear, but I distinctly remember that Eley Kishimoto was our first collaboration. We now count Dries van Noten, Alexander Wang, The Row, Erdem and Markus Lupfer as some of our clients.
I think individuality is the key to our success. We have something for everyone, whether you want something eye-catching from our collaborations with Jeremy Scott or Yazbukey, or a pair that’s more timeless from Linda Farrow.
The Summer Essential campaign was a project that Simon and I started last year. We were on holiday and noticed many customers perceived Linda Farrow as being very high-end, and we wanted to do something that would lighten the mood for the brand. So, we’ve designed a series of holiday-centric products – a beach ball, flip flops, paddle boards and playing cards.

My favourite summer destinations are Positano in South of Italy, where I like to stay in Ville Treville, and Boracay in the Philippines.
My summer travel essentials include the Linda Farrow summer essentials tote, Lancaster tan deepener, a kimono from Athena Procopiou, bikinis from Vix, Scilly factor 50 for the face, Ruby Woo red lipstick from MAC (a signature of mine), and a pair of LF38 cat eye sunglasses, of course.
I love Hong Kong. Every time Simon and I stop through, we always pay a visit to Happy Foot for a long massage, Yardbird for dinner, Upperhouse for cocktails, and Sevva for that breathtaking view.
Recently, I’ve just been spoiling my new kitten. She’s named Prada, and I even made her an Instagram account: @Prada_The_Kat
