In another edition of the monthly column commemorating Tatler’s 25th anniversary celebrations, we ask Atasha Muhlach 25 questions on fashion, trends and more.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Adventurous, passionate and hardworking.
How would you define your personal style?
I am someone who loves to experiment and play around with different looks to see what best suits me and makes me feel confident! Usually, I go for a blend of timeless elegance with a modern, playful element.
Whose style inspires you the most?
Emma Chamberlain. I love how she’s never afraid to keep things casual and comfortable while still being able to incorporate that distinct individuality and authenticity in her style.
Favourite designers or fashion houses?
Miu Miu, Prada, Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Jil Sander.

What pieces in your wardrobe do you wear most often?
I always wear something comfortable and cosy during the day whether it’s at work, errands or to see loved ones. But of course, you can never go wrong with a classic good pair of jeans, it’s the foundation of so many looks. But beyond that, I love statement accessories.
Favourite places to shop—locally and abroad?
Usually when I shop, I don’t specifically look for a piece in mind; it’s more of unexpectedly being drawn to something when I first see it. Locally, I love to appreciate all the uniqueness and genuine effort behind all local designers, which makes each piece and brand feel so special and personal. But abroad, it would have to be Japan or London.
Which stylish personalities or designers do you follow on Instagram?
Dua Lipa, Peggy Gou, Emma Chamberlain, Rajo Laurel, Michael Cinco, Martin Bautista, Michael Leyva, Carl Jan Cruz, Pam Quinones and many more.
Your favourite scent or fragrance memory?
A soft floral fragrance reminds me of when I was a kid watching my mum get ready for work. She also happens to be one of my style icons and a big reason as to why I fell in love with fashion at an early age. I also love to mix and match my fragrances to create a unique and personal scent for the day.
Your essential beauty routine?
It would have to be skin care. A big tip is to keep your skin care just as simple as a good facial cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen! Even with my busy schedule, I enjoy doing my skincare routine because it keeps me feeling great whilst being hydrated, refreshed and glowing.
Your favourite beauty boosts or treatments?
Skincare or a facial—nothing too invasive on the skin.
Your favourite way to stay active?
A way I stay active is to “sweat once a day”, meaning that no matter how hard or simple the workout is, as long as I move my body and break a sweat for at least 20 minutes, it’s a win!
What trend do you wish you hadn’t followed?
There’s a handful of trends I wish I didn’t partake in. It helped me learn that it’s not always best to follow what everyone thinks is cool. Sticking to what truly works for you and focusing on timeless staples is key in the long run.
A destination that is always on your bucket list?
Greece.

Your favourite hotel, bar or restaurant anywhere in the world?
Carbone and Circolo Popolare in London or my local favourite, Asador Alfonso.
A museum or gallery you love returning to?
I’ve always been a huge fan of the arts and was lucky enough to grow up in the creative world and industry. But a personal museum that will always hold a special place in my heart is the National Gallery in London.
Local salons, boutiques or hidden gems you frequent?
A local salon I’ve been going to since I was a kid, whether for a fresh haircut or a new colour, is Celeste Tuviera Hair Studio at The Peninsula Manila! I’m truly amazed with her level of skill, expertise and talent. Until this day, she continues to amaze me as she always seeks to improve and learn something new for her clients.
The best souvenir you always look for when travelling?
I’m a big foodie, so I love buying snacks to share with my loved ones at home. Otherwise, I go for something long-lasting like a cute t-shirt or keychain as a keepsake for memories.
A place where you truly unwind?
The beach or on the boat with family and friends.
Your idea of a perfect day off?
A day at the beach with family and friends, filled with activities like golf, scuba diving, snorkelling, wakeboarding, jetskiing and fishing.
A recent discovery that inspired you?
Scuba diving. It’s a completely different world underwater, where everything moves slowly and requires full concentration. Just the idea of being able to breathe underwater in such a quiet environment allows you to truly appreciate what’s around you.

A personal achievement you are most proud of?
Over the years, there have been many things I feel personally accomplished in, and I am very grateful for all the blessings that have come into my life. No matter how big or small, each accomplishment is a win. One that I will always carry with me is completing my education and attaining my college degree.
What motivates you every day?
My family. They are the sole reason why I feel confident in myself to pursue the unknown or to challenge myself through hard work, passion and to always have a kind, grateful and humble heart through it all.
What does luxury mean to you today?
To be able to acknowledge your blessings in the little things in life, be present in the moment, and choose to be happy every single day is a luxury.
A cause or advocacy close to your heart?
Empowering and inspiring others through your actions and to always have your feet on the ground in every step you take.
