6 Merry Holiday Fashion Campaigns 2020: Burberry, Gucci & More
Ho, ho, ho! It's that time of the year when fashion gets into the festive spirit of the holiday season.
Our holiday celebrations may look different this year but we can still count on our favourite brands to roll out the most joyous campaigns to put us in the right mood. Scroll down for our favourites this season.
Set to the incredibly catchy synth-pop music of Yazoo's Only You, Gucci's holiday campaign pays homage to the office Christmas party, albeit a very stylish version. Produced by Alessandro Michele and directed by Akinola Davies Jr, the retro video features some of Gucci's most coveted items of the season including the GG Marmont bags, Tennis 1977 sneakers as well as the wooly GG Jacquard scarves and hats.
Dressed head to toe in the British heritage label’s latest collection and set against the streets of London, the Burberry 2020 festive campaign keeps the magic alive by bringing together different creative spheres—fashion, sport and music. Inspired by the classic musical Singin' in the Rain, the film was conceived by Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci together with Megaforce and Riff Raff Films, and shows five young dancers dancing their way through the streets while dodging killer ice blocks.
This year's campaign also celebrates the partnership between Burberry and Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford, to support the next generation to pursue their passion and dream.
Upping the ante from last Christmas, Coach unveils a series of videos starring its global cast of celebrity ambassadors including Jennifer Lopez, Michael B. Jordan, Jeremy Lin and Yang Zi. Based on the theme of family, Malaysian singer Yuna is also part of the campaign and her video will be released in December.
Fashion-wise, the spotlight is on the Beat Shoulder inspired by the attitude of downtown New York, and the new Hitch backpack and belt bag for men.
With its jolly soundtrack, tinsels, sparklers, twinkling Christmas lights and a generous dose of festive whimsy, this Salvatore Ferragamo video nails the holiday spirit.
“For this holiday season it made sense to focus on the traditions of the time; a tradition of gathering with loved ones, of taking time to reflect and enjoy, and of exchanging tokens of respect, love, and affection," says creative director Paul Andrew.
This year, Prada takes the route of a noir-style short film conceived and written for Prada by the best-selling British author of Queenie, Candice Carty-Williams. Directed by Steven Meisel, it bids an ode to Prada's earliest moments when it pioneered the aesthetics of cinematic drama. The beautiful cast includes top models Freja Beha, Maty Fall, Mao Xiaoxing, Rudolfs Valbergs and Merlijne Schorren.
Inspired by the nostalgia of returning home for the holidays, Versace has gathered a starry cast of beauties including Irina Shayk, Adut Akech, Biaggio Ali Walsh and Louis Baines for a festive road trip in a convertible.
