One of the most coveted items on our Christmas wish list, the production of Prada for Adidas Limited Edition collection is capped at 700 pieces worldwide

It’s out of the (shopping) bag—Prada is collaborating on a limited-edition collection with Adidas, and it will hit the websites of both brands as early as December 4.

After Adidas teased an image of its shoeboxes peeking out of a Prada shopping bag, the German sportswear brand and Italian fashion house have released a first look at the upcoming collection, which will mark a major milestone for both of them.

Adidas is no stranger to collaborations. From celebrities like Kanye West and Pharrell Williams to designers Jeremy Scott and Stella McCartney, the sportswear manufacturer’s high-profile partnerships have culminated in many iconic collections—Yeezy remains one of the most coveted sneakers for collectors.

Prada, on the other hand, has largely resisted hopping onto the collaboration bandwagon and instead built on its own brand personality, embracing the “ugly chic”.

In its first release with Adidas—which Prada calls “a partnership to begin a partnership”—Prada For Adidas Limited Edition opted for an understated approach, however, with a monochromatic collection that celebrates the iconic details of both brands.

The Prada Superstar sneaker reiterates the recognisable silhouette of the original icon in Prada’s full-grain white leather, with its signature rubber shell toe, and finished with a herringbone-pattern rubber sole, serrated triple-stripe and a Trefoil logo-pint on the heel, alongside the Prada logotype.

The Prada Bowling bag for Adidas introduces a new silhouette that takes inspiration from both the Prada Bowling bag and Adidas gym bag in superior calf leather with a sports nylon strap, bearing the logos of Prada and Adidas in black. Limited to 700 pieces each, both designs are made in Italy by Prada and numbered with a unique serial.

Prada for Adidas Limited Edition will be available online at adidas.com and prada.com, and at selected Prada stores worldwide from December 4, 2019.
