Sunnies Studio, everyone's favourite eyewear line, is launching fashionable new products, now responsibly made. Called the Offbeat Classics collection, the new selection embraces the current demand for sustainable production by utilising biodegradable acetate and recycled polyester. Deepening their commitment to sustainability, Sunnies Studio also reveals that as of the moment, 77 per cent of new developments are already made from responsible materials. Not only that, but the brand has also committed to a partnership with 1% for the Planet, an international organisation to whom they have bequeathed one per cent of all their sales (to be used for projects that actively contribute to helping the planet).

The Offbeat Classics banks on two materials for its production: biodegradable acetate and recycled polyester. Recycled polyester is made from 100 per cent recycled materials, further supporting the circular economy of plastics. Meanwhile, biodegradable acetate is produced when natural materials are turned into acetate through organic plasticisers. As they are biodegradable, they pose less threat to the environment than other materials like plastic. Eyewear made from recycled polyester is priced more affordably than biodegradable acetate, though certain styles may not be available in this material.

Front and centre of the Offbeat Classics collection are Alba, Bobbi, Rio, and Wolf. Unisex eyeframes, these designs come in different colours and materials. Alba, a chunky, rounded cateye frame is available in Bone, Ink, and Cantaloupe colours. Bobbi, perfect for longer faces, is a semi-chunky slightly rounded square frame that comes in Classic Tort, Ink, and Taupe. Rio, shaped almost like infinity, features an oval frame in Dark Wheat, Truffle, and Ink. Lastly, Wolf, already a fan favourite thanks to its similarity to the classic wayfarer, comes in Black, Taupe, and Cantaloupe.
