Haute Couture fashion week this January during the global Covid pandemic meant a more subdued season with a drastically reduced live event schedule and scant guests
In Paris, the spring 2021 Haute Couture show season launched on Monday with little fanfare and a drastically reduced live event schedule, as designers and fashion houses work diligently to adhere to all public health and social distancing measures in place during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Minimised guest lists and very few clients, journalists, photographers, and fashion editors travelling internationally, combined with a subdued mood throughout the fashion industry, the country, and across the globe means fewer fashion people out and about, and an overall more relaxed approach to off-the-runway dressing.
Here are some of the best street style looks photographed on the streets of Paris so far this week, shot mostly outside fashion show venues and primarily featuring individuals and models involved directly in the shows. Here's hoping, as vaccines roll out worldwide, that fashion and other creative industries will come roaring back over the next year.
