Singapore’s beloved fashion design competition continues the race to the top with a new crop of finalists

And just like that, the lives of Felica Pang of Feel Archives, Jamela Law of Baëlf Design, Hu Ruixian of Studio HHFZ, Claudia Poh of Werable and Kavita Thulasidas are forever changed. The gruelling task of sieving out five of the best designers from eight creative semi-finalists is over as Singapore Stories returns with a brand new episode.

Pouring over mood boards, sketches, and toiles of the designers, Choo gave his expert advice on how to further streamline and tighten the construction of their collections and design methodologies. Held in the Cocoon Space, the designers were also exposed to other possibilities and outcomes for their lines—being asked to push their boundaries in terms of fit, finishes and fabrication.

Choo also tasked the designers to think out of the box when it comes to their creativity and intended demographic. And reminding them that sometimes, the best thing to do when they are at a creative block is to ignore the comments of the judges and trust their instincts as creatives.

Two episodes down and three more to go before we can tell who wins Singapore Stories 2022.

*As of July 28th, the Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF) is known as the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) under the Registry of Societies (ROS).
