Why: As part of its pre-fall 2021 collection for men, the Italian fashion brand is releasing the new ‘SF’ logo—two creatively reimagined initials (S and F) that pay tribute to its founder, Salvatore Ferragamo. The new logo can be seen on several of its best-selling footwear models, including the loafer, the driver and the sneaker, which come in different colourways and treatments.
Another draw? The new SF logo will also be made of sustainable materials: Econyl nylon, and sewn together with thread that is 100% post-consumer certified recycled PET.

Balenciaga launches the Runner sneaker

Why: You may have seen the viral Balenciaga campaign featuring Justin Bieber, but did you notice the sneakers that the Biebster was wearing? True to his design aesthetic, Demna Gvasalia has introduced the latest addition to the brand’s sneaker family—the Runner—which comes with an expensively disheveled look. It features a cut-and-paste composition, raw edges, glue marks, and showing seams, coming together in a high-tech, lightweight, and comfortable sneaker. Currently, the Runner sneaker is available in white, black and burgundy, with pink and blue slated to be released in a second drop.

Longchamp launches Le Pliage Green collection

What: Launch of Le Pliage Green, a new bag made from recycled nylon
Why: As part of its on-going commitment to sustainability, French brand Longchamp has launched its new Le Pliage Green—its iconic bag that is now made from recycled nylon. The brand aims to increase the use of this responsible material in its flagship Le Pliage line, eventually using it fully in its production by 2022. The Le Pliage Green line will come in four colourways inspired by nature: Forest, Ocean, Earth and a limited-edition Snow. In Singapore, the brand is celebrating the launch with an in-store pop-up at Ion Orchard, which runs from July 20 to August 10, 2021.

Alexander McQueen unveils Graffiti collection

Why: True to its founder’s iconoclastic spirit, the British brand has launched a capsule collection titled McQueen Graffiti this month. The range includes ready-to-wear, handbags, sunglasses, and fashion jewellery, each bearing the house’s logo reimagined in a punk-inspired scrawl. The new launch is accompanied by an outdoor campaign in some of the world’s top cities including London, Paris, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Dubai; closer to home, cities such as Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong will also get the McQueen Graffiti treatment on what the brand mysteriously calls “unconventional locations” for now. Coach collaborates with BAPE for new capsule collection

Why: All-American brand Coach partners with Japanese streetwear pioneers BAPE for a cooler-than-thou streetwear collection that celebrates the spirit of both New York and Tokyo. The collection spans ready-to-wear, leather goods, footwear and accessories, and will feature a specially reimagined logo that combines Coach’s Signature logo with BAPE’s instantly recognisable Ape Head motif. The accompanying campaign also features a diverse cast of fashion’s coolest stars, including Megan Thee Stallion, Cordae, and Kōki.

Burberry reveals new TB Summer Monogram collection

Why: “For my third TB Summer Monogram collection, I wanted to celebrate the balance of our heritage with the importance of always evolving and looking forwards,” said Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s chief creative officer. “The collection captures that optimistic feeling of summer and that feeling of constant momentum, the excitement for what’s next.” To that end, Tisci has refreshed the TB logo in new summer-inspired colourways, including cobalt blue, deep royal blue and mid grey, for the summery capsule of sunny essentials, as seen on the campaign’s star, Naomi Campbell.

Oakley collaborates with Jeff Staple

The collection includes four Frogskins styles—Frogskins Classic, Frogskins Mix, Frogskins 35th Anniversary and Frogskins Lite—and will each come with Staple’s iconic pigeon motif on the lens and a neoprene strap.

Adidas and Prada join forces again

Why: Following the immense popularity of its first collaboration, Adidas and Prada have come together once again to give us sneakers that are as fashionable as they are functional. Taking inspiration from the sneaker worn by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team at the Prada Cup, the A+P Luna Rossa 21 sneakers will come in a black and grey colourway, and will come with a co-branded shoebag featuring both Adidas’ trefoil logo and Prada’s iconic Linea Rossa logo.

Kate Spade New York launches “I Love NY” capsule collection

Why: Paying homage to the city the brand was founded, Kate Spade New York is introducing its new “I Love NY” capsule collection, featuring the iconic “I Love NY”, designed by the late graphic designer Milton Glaser. The capsule collection will feature the logo on the new Manhattan tote bag, a 3-D molded red leather apple bag, a crossbody, a zip pouch, protective phone and Airpod cases, and shoes.
“There’s a magic to New York that can’t be found anywhere else, and nothing embodies that spirit more than the classic ‘I Love NY’ logo,” said Jenny Campbell, Kate Spade New York’s chief marketing officer. “This capsule allows us to share our love openly with both our community here in NYC, and around the globe.”
