The silk Armani gown Meghan Markle wears in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey is already sold out online

Sneak peeks of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview were released earlier this week by broadcaster CBS. The world got a preview of what the duo may reveal with one of the preview clips showing Prince Harry saying that he was “worried about history repeating itself”, in regard to the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Their interview will be broadcasted in the US and now the UK as well.

As preview clips make their rounds on social media, eagle-eyed netizens have been quick to point out Markle’s outfit. She’s seen wearing a black Giorgio Armani dress with a lotus print.

The silk, V-neck gown also features a belt and is already sold out online.

But is there a deeper meaning behind her dress? She is understood to have chosen the dress for the symbolic meaning of the lotus flower. Town and Country Magazine reported that the flower symbolises rebirth and spiritual enlightenment and related this to how Markle had once described her experience with online bullying as “unsurvivable”. In fact, Winfrey seems to touch on this relationship with online trolls during her upcoming interview.

“'Almost unsurvivable,' sounds like there was a breaking point,” Oprah says in a preview clip for the interview.

Markle’s fashion choices are well known to be influential, if not closely followed by royal watchers and fans alike. In 2019, she was crowned the “Most Powerful Dresser” by global fashion search platform Lyst as part of its latest Year In Fashion report.
