From Lily-Rose Depp to Liu Wen, a host of stylish personalities rode the Chanel train on May 3 as the fashion house presented its cruise 2019/2020 runway show. Harking back to the bygone era of train travel, Chanel transformed the Grand Palais into a 20th-century train station, a romantic foil to showcase the new collection as well as a symbolic gesture as the house takes its next journey under the leadership of artistic director Virginie Viard. The day began with a luscious breakfast at Le Riviera, a restaurant that looked like it was plucked out of the Venice-Simplon Orient Express. Afterwards, guests descended into the nave of the Grand Palais, where a long train platform awaited replete with stops from previous Chanel Cruise destinations. Bon voyage!
