Scarlett Johansson just gave birth, and we expect that she’ll look fantastic toting two children around

Scarlett Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, confirmed her pregnancy at his stand-up show last night, and she just gave birth to baby Cosmo today. The couple have been married for almost a year, and this is their first child together.

Whilst the actress’ red-carpet looks are extremely feminine and glamorous, her personal style leans toward T-shirts, denim and jumpsuits in neutral shades. Inspired by Scarlett’s second birth, here are a few outfit ideas for new mothers or mothers-to-be.

There’s something so sleek about wearing all black, and it’s very flattering post-pregnancy. This matching top and trouser set from Max Mara looks, and probably feels, like an elevated pajama set.

The elastic waist and accordion fabric means it will easily stretch, and all it needs is a chic mule and a swipe of red lipstick to look extremely put together for a date night.

Practically pastoral

ScarJo will probably be nursing baby Cosmo for the first few months, and in this late summer heat, the last thing she’ll want is to feel stuffy. This Fil De Vie poplin dress is light, breezy and has a convenient tie at the neck which is perfect for nursing mothers.

We can already see it: Walking in the garden barefoot, baby on her hip and hosting a small lunch at home.

Although we don’t know Johansson’s schedule, we’d like to imagine that she’ll rock up to at least one event soon. If she does, this Jason Wu strapless dress is a beautiful silhouette and exudes romantic new-mother energy with its muted florals and layers of floating tulle. The internal bodice provides support, and for a little extra glam, these Swarovski crystal slingback heels add sparkle and are more forgiving on one’s feet.

Cool and comfy

The Black Widow star has been spotted multiple times in jumpsuits, and this blue and white pinstripe one from Alex Mill looks right up her alley. Perfect for a chill day out, a cotton one-piece provides ultimate comfort while keeping everything together.

Chunky sandals are ideal for running errands because they’re easy to slip on and provide relief for sore feet, and this enormous tote from Jil Sander will carry all the baby essentials she needs.

Home time means downtime. There’s nothing more comfortable than a bathrobe and slippers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look good while relaxing. This silky robe with floral embroidery from Olivia von Halle is an elegant way to lounge around the house, and feathered slippers will make you feel like a million dollars no matter how little you’ve slept. These items, as well as the full collection, will be available for purchase in November.
