Premier fashion brand unveils its new handbag collection inspired by the late Fiamma Ferragamo.

Fiamma handbag collection launch at Casa Lever, New York City

The late Marchesa Fiamma di San Guiliano Ferragamo served almost 40 years of her life in building the Salvatore Ferragamo brand by pioneering in its designs of leather accessories and shoes. With the legacy she has imparted, Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti drew inspiration from her and other women in the generations of Ferragamo that embodied such sophistication and unique style.

Ferruccio Ferragamo, Fiamma's brother

Fiamma is a collection of quality handbags of such intricacy and elegance that highlight the harmonious mix of fine materials including calfskin, python, pony hair, and crocodile leather adorned with sleek metal hardware details. The colour palette favours autumnal browns such as cocoa, black, moss, and rosewood, while the refined finish lends a golden shimmer to the metal accessories. An outstanding character in the collection is the sensual softness of palmellato buffed calfskin, complemented by an indulgent silk lining and polished gold hardware handles.

Launched in New York last May, the Fiamma collection was a part of the global event of Salvatore Ferragamo that commemorated the birth of the house icon. A fascinating cast of international families and their female generations was included in a short film and interview series. These include Sydney and Anika Poitier (Los Angeles), Princess Patricia and Princess Mathilde Melusine Ruspoli (Rome), Flora Zeta Cheong-Leen and Claudine Ying (Hong Kong), Hanayo and Tenko Nakajima (Tokyo), Helena Bordon, Luciana and Marcella Tranchesi (Sao Paulo), Stella, Lola and Jacqueline Schnabel (New York), and Mariel and Langley Fox Hemingway (Los Angeles).

"The opportunity to celebrate Fiamma Ferragamo in this way commemorates not only the creative energy she brought to her own family decades ago but also the families who embody that same spirit today,” said the artist Neville Wakefield, who curated the evening's launch.

Salvatore Ferragamo is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Stores Specialists, Inc. and located at Greenbelt 4, Rustan’s Makati, Power Plant Mall, Rustan’s Shangri-La, Rustan’s Cebu, Newport Mall, and Alabang Town Centre.
