Meet the ultimate everyday bag: Saint Laurent’s Le 5 à 7 Supple bag
The term “investment buy” is oft quoted and referred to in the fashion world, particularly when it comes to luxury handbags—and there’s good reason for that. Yes, they cost a pretty penny and may even increase in value over the decades. But above all else, the right investment piece will see you through for seasons and years to come.
There’s a new “It” bag on the horizon, and it is set to join the ranks of other icons in fashion lore. The arm candy in question? The Le 5 à 7 bag.
Saint Laurent was recently named by The Lyst Index as one of the top five hottest brands of 2024 and experts are attributing that to the French fashion house’s Le 5 à 7 line. And it’s easy to see why. The bag has all the makings of a cult classic: functionality, versatility, and a minimalist silhouette that’s undeniably timeless.

The Le 5 à 7 bag was first unveiled in Saint Laurent’s spring-summer 2021 collection; paying homage to one of Anthony Vaccarello’s favourite films, Cléo from 5 to 7. Since then, the bag has been reimagined into an array of sizes, colours, and finishes such as grained, smooth leather or patent leather, as well as canvas, raffia, and embossed crocodile.

There are several versions of the Le 5 à 7 bag and the Supple iteration is designed to be the ultimate everyday bag. Available in a large and small version, it boasts capacious interiors, a luxe suede lining, and a handy adjustable strap. Another focal point of the bag is the instantly recognisable Cassandre hardware, which doubles as a clasp.

As one of the newer additions to the Le 5 à 7 family, the Supple already has an impressive celebrity fan club. The likes of Taylor Swift, Hailey Bieber, Rosé of Blackpink and rapper Chaeyoung have all been spotted carrying it recently—sealing the Supple’s status as a celebrity-approved designer bag well worth investing in.
