The sacai x Hank Willis Thomas partnership is in celebration of Sacai's Spring 21 message of "Love Over Rules" and will feature an empowering two-part campaign with various creative individuals

Sacai creative director and Tatler's Asia's Most Stylish honouree, Chitose Abe venerates her partnership with artist Hank Willis Thomas with a poetic and empowering two-part campaign to celebrate sacai's Spring 21 message of "Love Over Rules"—words originating from Hank Willis Thomas' work.

The collection is inspired by those who have broken the rules and pushed the boundaries to defy society's expectations regardless of race, culture and gender. This campaign, realised by Hank Willis Thomas Studio in collaboration with Equator Productions, will feature individuals with a focus on the collective community through portrait photography and a film integrating music, movement and interviews.

The cast of creative individuals includes trumpeter and composer, Keyon Harrold; movement artist, Mizuho Kappa; artist, Zoë Buckman; designer and advocate, Celine Semaan Vernon; jazz pianist, Jason Moran; and artist and activist, Chella Man; as well as Thomas himself and his wife, curator Rujeko Hockley.

To kick-off the launch of the collection, U.S. retail partner, Bergdorf Goodman will be celebrating Sacai x Hank Willis Thomas partnership through two of its Fifth Avenue windows starting January 18, 2021. Bergdorf Goodman will also launch an interview with the artist on their official website.

The collection will be available to shop both in-store and online through sacai stores, sacai THE store and selected retailers around the world from January 18, 2021.
