From refreshed icons to new additions, these are the most lust-worthy bags and shoes from Louis Vuitton’s cruise 2022 show

Last night, Louis Vuitton unveiled their cruise 2022 show at Dani Karavan’s utopian masterpiece, the Axe Majeur in Cergy-Pontoise. The show was “an optimistic company akin to luminous “marching bands” of joyful colour”, and this was evident in its “proud, positive looks” and colourful accessories.

From updated icons such as the Petite Malle—which now comes in a delightful bubblegum pink hue—to new additions to existing lines such as the Monogram Since 1854 Collection, the bags were just as much the highlight of the show as the ready-to-wear pieces. A new addition to the bags of the season were oversized chains in every colour and material—from chunky gold chains to fabric covered versions in matching hues as the bags. But what has to be our favourite from the season is a new shape—slouchy, roomy, versatile enough to be carried crossbody or held in hand.

The shoes were every bit as striking: the key style of the season is definitely the boot, a mid-calf version done up in the racy, bright colours of the cruise 2022 collection. Other styles that caught our eye included a strappy slip-on mule embellished with studs and a geometric detail that recalled the sci-fi theme of Nicolas Ghesquière’s collection, and another variation that fastens at the ankle—super chic and super appropos for the season.
