Chanel's Fall/Winter Collection takes a more minimalist approach as Virginie Viard sets the latest show in a small nightclub on rue Princesse in Paris.
At the digital showing of Chanel's latest collection, Virginie Viard takes us on a sensual girls' night out to the Chez Castel nightclub in Paris, which has housed the most famous parties with pop culture icons, including Mick Jagger, since it opened in the '60s. "I wanted a small space," said the Chanel creative director, "I imagined the models doing a show for themselves, going from room to room, crossing each other in staircases, piling their coats up in the cloakroom and going up to the next floor to get changed."

Viard's fall-winter collection presents the unlikely combination of '70s Parisian party aesthetics with voluminous elements of winter sportswear. An exploration of contrasts with nods to the boundary-pushing style of late supermodel and Chanel icon Stella Tennant, this collection reimagines its signature tweed with sheer panelling and sequins, pairs strappy sandals with ski suits and adorns bare legs with oversized fur coats. Accompanied by Michel Gaubert's remix of Diana Ross' Do You Know Where You’re Going To?, Chanel's digital show makes us long for the days we could walk into glamorous parties in style.
