It might be a hot girl summer for Megan Thee Stallion, but Valentino and MyTheresa are bringing us a totally different take on the season. The Italian luxury brand has collaborated with the online retailer for an exclusive collection, the Escape 2021 Capsule. Looking to its archives, Valentino revived several prints from the late ’60s for a summery capsule of beachwear and accessories for both men and women. Think caftans, camp-collared shirts with matching shorts, tunics, and beachside essentials like sandals and tote bags.

The archival prints are undoubtedly the highlight of the collection. In particular, three have been singled out by the house to punch up the collection: The Valentino Archive ’66 featuring a kaleidoscopic pattern gradated in shades of blue; the Valentino Archive ’67 with a tapestry motif in rich saturated tones; and the Valentino Archive ’68 coral pattern.

The patterns have also been used on the Valentino Garavani Atelier tote bags—our favourite is the deceptively simple coral version that has been embroidered with elegant seed beads.
