These are Tatler’s picks of the best-dressed celebrities at the 2026 Met Gala
The Met Gala has always been fashion’s most theatrical evening, but this year’s “Fashion Is Art” theme encouraged guests to push further—and many did. Highlights of the night includes Katy Perry’s custom Stella McCartney gown with an openable visor; Rihanna’s sculptural Maison Margiela creation by Glenn Martens with dramatic draped curves; and Heidi Klum, never one for restraint, underwent a full Statue of Liberty transformation that rendered her almost unrecognisable.

The evening made history on another front too, as all four members of Blackpink attended together for the first time. Each brought an entirely different reading of the theme: Jennie in a custom Chanel gown traced in 15,000 metallic sequins; Lisa—attending as a Host Committee member—in a Robert Wun creation featuring two 3D-scanned sculptural arms at the shoulders; Jisoo making her red carpet debut in a Dior gown; and Rosé in Saint Laurent, her waist adorned with Tiffany & Co. jewellery.

Asian athletes were also well-dressed. Eileen Gu arrived in the ‘Airo’ dress—a collaboration between Iris Van Herpen and artist A.A. Murakami—its 15,000 hand-formed iridescent glass bubbles appearing as weightless and alive as real foam. Alysa Liu, freshly announced as Louis Vuitton’s newest house ambassador, made her Met Gala debut in a red evening gown from the house. Naomi Osaka, meanwhile, wore Robert Wun and drew attention with a quick-change on the red carpet.
