一年一度的時尚盛事、「時尚奧斯卡」Met Gala今年以完整規模回歸，在每個時裝愛好者心目中都佔有重要地位的美國大都會博物館的階梯上帶來當今設計師們無窮的創意。
延續去年探索美國時尚內容的第二部分，整個晚會以「Gilded Glamour」（鍍金魅力）做為紅毯的裝著規範。每年的晚會皆是聚集各界名流為紐約大都會藝術博物館服裝學院籌款的盛事，也會同步揭幕該年展覽。今年主題為《In America: An Anthology of Fashion》（在美國：時尚的選集），聚焦「Gilded Age 」鍍金時期：從1870年到1890年（馬克-吐溫在1873年創造了這個名詞），是一個前所未有的繁榮、文化變革和工業化的時代。

2022年頒獎典禮的聯合主席，由荷里活夫妻檔Blake Lively和Ryan Reynolds以及導演Lin-Manuel Miranda和Regina King擔任。 每次都艷壓Met Gala的Blake Lively今次也毫無意外成為全場焦點，帶來每次紅毯必不可少的變裝元素，金色的Verscae訂製禮服轉眼披上靛藍色化身自由女神。回到特定的年代，不少明星皆選擇了束胸衣Corset元素，看點包括Billie Eilish的Gucci禮服，猶如從畫中走出。另一個詮釋角度是最近將金色和鑽石穿上身，如Cardi B由Versace打造的全金戰衣。也有明星如超模Hailey Bieber、Kate Moss以永恆經典的黑白禮服出席。此外不少亞裔、黑人明星和設計師都成為今季的亮點，也有不少出席的名人向已故的Virgil Abloh及André Leon Talley致敬。
