You don’t have to leave the house to savour the thrill of travelling—that jolt of inspiration that you get from travelling can come from anything that allows your imagination to wander and get your creative juices flowing, and Louis Vuitton’s 2021 Savoir Faire Event in Hong Kong aims to do just that.

On display are various versions of the brand’s hard sided trunks that have been customised for an occasion or need. In this video, Hong Kong actress Michele Reis takes Tatler through the event, sharing her favourite pieces from the collection and what she loves about travelling.

“Time is the ultimate luxury when it comes to travel. It allows you to truly indulge in every moment of your trip,” says Reis. “I get to spend time with my family and friends while discovering new places, food, and cultures. And I always make time to look for nice Champagne glasses to buy as a memento as well when I travel.”

Reis’ penchant for collecting Champagne glasses from around the world is partly what drew her to the Party Trunk, which features compartments for bottles of Champagne, cocktail shakers, glassware and even a small disco ball for a touch of whimsy.

For Reis, travelling also reminds her to appreciate nature, respect different cultures and always have an open mind, and she finds the Garden Trunk and Fornasetti Beauty Trunk from the collection particularly intriguing.

The Garden Trunk is made from plexiglass and was designed to house a terrarium, and Reis suggests including a bonsai tree in it to bring a touch of Japan into your home. For the Fornasetti Beauty Trunk, also known as the Malle Coiffeuse, Louis Vuitton collaborated with Italian design brand Fornasetti to line the trunk with one of the brand’s distinctive prints that feature Roman motifs, creating an eye-catching statement piece.

“Travel means more than hopping on a plane to an exotic location, travel also means allowing the imagination to explore and wonder,” says Reis.
