The luxury brand’s fall/winter 2019 collection travels all the way to Tokyo for a regional press presentation.

The House of Louis Vuitton sure knows how to make a statement, and the world’s most valuable brand has mastered the art of creating cool contemporary collections that are deeply rooted to the brand DNA.

First presented in Paris in January this year, the men’s collection by Virgil Abloh is a class of its own. The word du jour is gender fluidity, and as always, he’s right on the money.

Similarly, the mat-black Keepall in Taiga leather and marked with rainbow-hued X was equally outstanding. Talk about upping your travel style game, this is it!

Most of the suits in the collection boast loose silhouettes that exude a casual coolness synonymous to Abloh. He’s also thrown in some of the skirt-like ensemble he has been dishing out generously since joining the House.

The leather puffers, loose fits, pleats, rainbow-colored cross, world-flags, resin chains and embroidery all play a big role but the sophistication of the collection lies in the craftsmanship and finer details.

On finer inspection of the houndstooth-like pattern, one would notice it’s the African continent on repeat. This is the artistic director’s special tribute to his ancestry.

Every single output from this collection embodies the Virgil Abloh swag, we were greatly impressed by his creative streak, references and reverences. This is one man who is actively shifting parameters in the world of high fashion!
