The pieces the Milan-based American designer can't live without

Known for its spirited ready-to-wear and homeware of eclectic prints designed by former fashion editor JJ Martin, La Double J has landed in Hong Kong through a pop-up at K11 Musea. Open until early July, you'll find sunny beach and swimwear, colourful table sets and plenty of stand-out accessories. In celebration, we speak with JJ Martin on the seven pieces you can find in store that are most personal to her.

"This is my favourite piece in the pop up. It’s our Super Smokin’ Hot dress- which means, obviously, that you’ll be sizzling while wearing it. I love the fact that its sexy but not too revealing. The sable fabrication has a touch of stretch which makes it so comfortable to wear."

"This is the perfect silk kaftan to take you from the beach to black tie. I can see myself wearing this pool side at the Hotel Pelicano in Italy or at a formal evening at a Roman palazzo!"

"I don’t like to get too tan when I’m in the sun that’s why I love our long sleeved surf suits which double as body suits, workout tops and swimsuits. This one in our tree of life print comes with a matching reversible tote, so you get two prints in one. It’s perfect for throwing in everything you need for a day at the beach. You can also throw in this silk pouch too, which can hold sunscreen by day or your makeup and money by evening."

"I have these vases which we make in Verona all over my home in Milan. They look spectacular with flowers but even when they are empty, they are so decorative and add a special touch to any table or room. You can mix and match these printed vases with your own plate patterns at home, or just use white plates with them!"

"The easiest way to dress up your table for dinner parties is to use these plates for the dessert course. Each plate is a different pattern but the colour tones all work well together. Trust me, they are a great conversation starter. Everyone loves the creative pop on the table and to see which plate they got!"

"I love the jewellery we do at La DoubleJ,. For me it’s a tie between this Medici necklace (so named because it looks like a Renaissance bauble) and these playful raffia hoop earrings- like fireworks bursting with colour, and also super light! I love wearing special jewellery like this even with something super simply like a white t-shirt or a black cashmere sweater."
