As the founder of lifestyle label Lala Curio, Laura Cheung is constantly on the move—and whether she’s travelling for work or pleasure, Cheung stays true to her bohemian yet sensible spirit. Laura shares three of her favourite holiday hot spots, including where to go and what to do in each, and most importantly, what she plans to bring with her.

Il Salvatino is my go-to hotel, it’s a beautifully refurbished palazzo with a tree-lined garden. I like to spend my days wandering the halls of the Uffizi Gallery, and when it comes to meals, I would suggest Il Chicco di Caffé dalla Lola, Trattoria Cammillo and drinks at the Antico Caffé del Moro—Art Bar. If you have time to venture out to the vineyards in Chianti, the must-visit ones are Castello di Ama and Antinori.
What to pack: I always bring flowy, graphic dresses or some stylish summer separates that can take me from day to night, comfortable sandals as I love walking around the city and roaming around the museums.

Palm Beach

My fiancé has a family home in Palm Beach so I’ve been spending some time in Florida. I love spending time at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, which is a beautiful Gilded Age mansion that has over 70 rooms, filled with fine arts.

My favourite restaurants are Sant Ambroeus for lunch and dinner at Buccan. I also love strolling around on Worth Avenue, which is a great shopping district. And to unwind—I love taking a class at Yoga Shala. If we venture to Miami Beach, we’ll stay at The Faena.

What to pack: Definitely lots of swimsuits! I love pairing a colourful one-piece with a wrap skirt for a trip to the beach. And when it comes to accessories, I like to keep it fun with a pair of statement earrings.

Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a special place for me, as I’ll be getting married there this year! My favourite hotel is The Parker. There’s lots to do in Palm Springs; there are tons of stores in town and in the Design District which sells vintage mid-century furniture, and I also love checking out the houses of Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Cary Grant—stunning mid-century architecture and also a hint of old Hollywood.

Hiking in the Indian Canyons is great if you’re looking to do something more outdoorsy. I love going to brunch at Cheeky’s and dinners at Workshop Kitchen+Bar or Le Vallauris. Sunnylands is also an attraction at Rancho Mirage you should check out.
What to pack: I tend to wear a lot of light colours and materials during the day, but I always bring knitwear options, like a chunky cardigan, for the evenings as the temperature drops quite a bit.
