Celebrating Italian craftsmanship, the Italian Trade Agency and Italian Eyewear Association introduced seven brands from the region
When conjuring up thoughts of Italy, there are a few things that instantly come to mind—palatial architecture, delicious cuisine, historic art, picturesque scenery, and luxurious fashion and accessories crafted with that coveted “made in Italy” seal of approval. The Italian Trade Agency is the governmental body that helps advocate for the business development of Italian brands abroad. With offices across Asia, Africa, Europe and America, the agency operates through a worldwide network of 79 offices in 65 countries and offers the ideal gateway for enterprises looking to establish business relationships with Italian partners—whether that be seeking investment opportunities, sourcing products or importing materials.
The agency teamed up with the Italian Eyewear Association (ANFAO) to celebrate the craftsmanship from the region, by proudly hosting seven Italian eyewear brands within an “Italian pavilion” at the Hong Kong International Optical Fair in November 2023.

A triumph of Italian eyewear, the occasion was a chance to celebrate the country’s rich heritage of craftsmanship, style and precision. Brands highlighted within the fair included the meticulously crafted designs of Nik03—a global authority on high-quality metal eyewear since the mid-2000s, known for designs that are either completely nickel-free or plated in pure precious metals. The fair also showcased Spectaful, renowned for its lightweight, minimalist designs and screw-free construction. The brand debuted four fresh silhouettes—Dudu, Bro, Sofia and Patty—all of which beautifully convey pioneering technological innovations.

For premium optical frames that creatively celebrate bold colour and form, fair visitors looked to Look—a creative eyewear label that presented a particularly expressive autumn-winter 2023 collection.
More Italian eyewear labels on display at the Hong Kong International Optical Fair 2023 included Mad in Italy, known for infusing creativity, irony and a dash of madness into its stylish, vibrant designs. Visitors were treated to a collection which reflected the essence of the label’s DNA through statement acetate and titanium models. The Italian Pavilion was also home to Modo, an eyewear brand presenting frames of striking colours, distinctive shapes and masterful construction. Liò, a label meticulously handcrafted in Veneto since the late Eighties, offered up styles that fused cutting-edge technology with unparalleled craftsmanship. Finally, Diva, a brand with manufacturing roots dating back to the 1950s, presented eyewear that draws inspiration from jewellery and nature, often adorned with original Austrian Swarovski crystals.
The combined presence of these seven brands at the Hong Kong International Optical Fair 2023 showcased a colourful tapestry of style, innovation, heritage and a commitment to quality. The result isn’t simply a collection of covetable accessories but a cohesive expression of style and identity that celebrates the confident vision of Italian eyewear.
