It’s been a whole year since you have been appointed as Longchamp’s global ambassador. How has it been so far?

It’s a great responsibility for me and I’m always very glad that Longchamp has trusted and supported me throughout the whole process. I aim to live up as the Longchamp ambassador and repay them with sincerity. I’m looking forward to representing their amazing collection of clothes, bags, and shoes. It also motivates me to really take care of myself and work out more diligently so I can live up to the expectations of a Longchamp model.

What is your most memorable moment with Longchamp?

For me, every time I go for a photo shoot for a new collection, it’s a memorable experience, especially when it’s in Paris. Whenever I’m there, the Longchamp family takes good care of me. They take pride in their collections and would explain to me about their inspirations behind them, and as their ambassador, it allows me to understand their brand even better. Every time I head to Paris for a shoot, I feel like I am building a stronger relationship with them as well.

How would you describe Longchamp?

Longchamp has always represented energy, health, and positivity—not just as a brand, but the people themselves are truly authentic. I’m really grateful and thankful for that. What I’ve observed is that there is no hierarchy in Longchamp, the whole team is working towards the same goal and bringing the best out of everyone.

Which is your favourite Longchamp bag?

I have two, one of which is the signature Roseau bag. I love its simple design, something you can carry every day. It’s suitable if you’re going for a casual look, or even if you want to dress up. My second pick would be the Le Pliage. I would say this is a bag that people of all ages would love as it’s light and practical. I’m the type of person who carries a lot of things, so I love that it comes in all sizes.

What are your top three essentials that you carry every day?

First, it’s my diary, it’s something that I carry with me all year round. It’s not thick, it’s rather thin, it’s somewhat like a calendar diary that I use to take notes of daily things. The second item would be my pencil case as I like to write, so I bring along some stationery with me wherever I go. The third would be a book. Although I don’t really read all that much, but with the intention of wanting to improve my vocabulary, I always bring a book around to read whenever I have the time.

How would you describe your personal style?

Coincidentally, my style actually aligns with Longchamp’s aesthetic very well. I’m the type who goes for comfort, simplicity, and something that allows me to carry my essentials with me. Even for dressed-up outfits, Longchamp’s designs are very comfortable to wear, so they are definitely my go-to brand.

You have been keeping yourself busy with multiple projects including your theatre debut and album release, what can fans look forward to in 2024?

So as of right now, there is nothing that is confirmed yet, so it’s difficult for me to disclose. But for me, in order to be an actress and singer for long, I am working diligently to prepare my album, and in terms of dramas, I’m reviewing scripts to select one that suits me well and to share with my fans. Above all, it will be a year where I, Kim Se-Jeong, as a person, would intentionally prioritise rest. It’s a year of rest and personal growth so that I can become a more well-rounded and developed person.

As an actor and singer, what do you love most about what you do?

I would say there are two points to it. First, it’s the passion that’s burning inside, and the second is why I want to continue doing what I do. Whether it’s acting or singing, my goal is always to be better at what I do, so it’s the passion that really drives me. I would say that if I’m in a different industry and has a job that makes my life so difficult but happy at the same time, maybe I would just quit and move on to something different. But acting and singing constantly pushes me to think about why I am doing it and what makes me want to do it, and the drive to find out why is what motivates me.

Last but not least, what is your favourite food?

This is the most difficult question. I love food in general, but usually, I would say tteokbokki is my favourite. But lately, I got into something that’s really simple yet very delicious. It’s basically a combination of crab meat, egg, sesame oil, rice, and a layer of seaweed mixed together. That’s my recent favourite go-to food to eat.
