Quilt and wool are both essential elements of ski gear, but the signature Chanel tweed (in a fabulous shade of fuchsia, no less) is what gives this collection an edge that Ms Reggiani would adore. This is giving “cocktails in the chalet before dinner”, which is completely appropriate.

Gowns? In the snow? Ground-breaking—and we mean it! Thom Browne’s autumn/winter collection takes the ubiquitous ski jacket and transforms it in into voluminous gowns perfect for making a dramatic entrance or exit. Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn appears in the campaign too, making it cold weather approved.

The metallic aspects of the latest Louis Vuitton collection would certainly complement Reggiani’s excessive jewellery, and the short jackets emulate the style Lady Gaga wore in the film. Additionally, the monogrammed skis would probably give her a dose of inspiration to push her husband to develop Gucci skis, too.

This latest collaboration from Rowing Blazers and Fila has all the jazz of the '90s—albeit a period much later than this film follows. But it’s the intention behind the collection rather than the references, and this intends to be brighter than the glare of the sun on the snow. Extremely colourful is on the agenda and Patrizia Reggiani, with her love of flair, would agree.
