While Kenzo’s tiger remains the icon in the brand’s Chinese New Year capsule collection, the rat is the hero of this lunar year. Inspired by 1950s comic book codes and 1970s kung-fu films, the collection combines a 1990s style elevated with a festive mood. The “Kung Fu Rat” character appears on the backpack, trainers, T-shirts and sweaters.

It couldn’t be more fitting to have one of Disney’s most iconic characters, Mickey Mouse, to represent the Chinese zodiac sign of the rat. Gucci’s collaboration with Disney sees five pairs of footwear options, each adorned with—you guessed it—a Mickey Mouse motif.

The Rhyton sneaker is an ode to Gucci’s signature thick-sole shoe, with comes in an ivory leather with a vintage graphic of Mickey on the mid-panels. The rest of the footwear collection consists of an Ace sneaker, slip-on and slipper.
